In Mongolia, October 28, 2017 at 10:10 to 12:05, local time, the successful one-time synchronization for power generation of Unit 3 and Unit 4 of the 4X12MW Steam Turbine Generator Unit Expansion Project for the captive power plant of the Mongolian Erdenet Copper Mine contracted by HEI. On October 26, 2017, Unit 1 and Unit 2 of the project contracted by HEI. So far, all the four units of the project have been successfully synchronized for power generation. 

The construction of the Mongolian Erdenet Project officially started on May 18, 2016. All the civil works, installation and commissioning were completed and the units could be synchronized for power generation on August 24, 2017. Now the power plant has suddenly become the third largest power plant in Mongolia.
