Recently, the Jiuzhou Electric Co., Ltd. Meilisi Biomass Cogeneration project, one of Heilongjiang’s “Top 100 Projects”, conducted a successful one-time connection to the power grid. Turbine generator equipment for the project was provided by Harbin Electrical Corporation. During operation, unit work conditions were stable, all parameters were outstanding, and all unit testing parameter performance indices either met or surpassed design values. This not only shows Harbin Electrical Corporation and Jiuzhou Electric are implementing national new development concepts, it also is a breakthrough in the service of green development strategies.

The Meilisi Biomass Cogeneration project is the first agriculture and forestry biomass and waste product cogeneration project to be built and put into operation by Jiuzhou Electric. The construction site is located in Qiqihar’s Green Foods Special Industrial Park. The project’s overall construction scale is 80MW. When the project’s full capacity is put into operation, it will be able to provide 560 million kWh of green power annually. This will fulfill requirements for the entire 1,070,000 square meters of winter heating needed by the residents of the Meilisi metropolitan area, as well as the 50 tons per hour of industrial steam required by the industrial park. It is expected to consume 600,000 tons of straw annually.
