At 2:30 a.m. on June 13, installation officially began on the world’s first turbine, manufactured by HE, situated on the right bank of the Baihetan Dam. The bottom ring of the unit was also successfully lifted into the equipment pit.

After successful fabrication of the bottom ring, it was divided into four parts which were delivered to the construction site separately. At the site, through the joint efforts of the technical personnel from HE and personnel from other parties, the bottom ring clearing and assembly was completed and the unit passed the joint acceptance conducted by the Employer, Supervisor and motor company. On June 13, the unit was lifted into the pit.

During the next stage, installation of the water distributor mechanisms such as the guide vanes and top covers of the unit will be carried out consecutively.
