On April 27 in Ecuador (local time), the first unit of Minas hydropower station (No.3 unit in the plant) that was developed by HEC was successfully started at the first attempt, with the data on unit vibration, throwing and other relevant parts satisfactory and in conformity with ISO standards and the requirements of contractual specifications.

Minas hydropower station is located in Azuay, Ecuador, and equipped with three 90MW impulse hydroelectric generating units. HEC has provided three hydroelectric generating units, takes charge in administrating speed regulating systems, excitation systems, automation of units and other relevant items and provides online monitoring services for units. The first unit is expected to go into commercial operation in October 2018.
