Harbin Electric Corporation has launched the world's first new generation of hydraulic turbines with an ultra-wide load range and high stability, achieving safe and stable long-term operation at a full load range of 0–100% PR. This has fundamentally transformed turbine-generator units from simple energy supply to energy regulation, playing a significant role in promoting the consumption of renewable energy sources like wind and solar power in the grid and achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals. We have been granted 22 patents, including nine invention patents for the technology. As the first leading organization in China's hydraulic turbine industry, we spearheaded the development and release of the international standard IEC62882: 2020. This has led to international recognition of the similarity law for pressure pulsation conversion in Francis turbines. We contributed to the revision of the national standard GB/T15468-2020 on the fundamental technical requirements for hydraulic turbines. These contributions have significant meaning and high scientific and applied value for the technological advancement of hydraulic generating units and the development of hydropower plant construction in China and worldwide.
