On December 6, 2023, the Huaneng Shidaowan High-Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor Nuclear Power Demonstration Project, a key national scientific and technological project and the world's first fourth-generation nuclear power plant, officially commenced commercial operation. Harbin Electric Corporation participated in the project by supplying key equipment. The project represented a landmark achievement of a national key scientific and technological project with completely independent intellectual property rights in China, signifying that China has reached a world-leading level in fourth-generation nuclear power technology.

As a key participant in the demonstration project, we solved numerous technological and process challenges. We developed and manufactured crucial key equipment, including the world's first helical coil-type direct steam generator for HTGR and the world's first high-power, high-temperature, hot-state electromagnetic bearing structure main helium blower, which are deemed as the "heart" and "lungs" of a nuclear power plant. The equipment has demonstrably played a role as a "pillar", "ballast", and "stabilizer" in safeguarding national security, ensuring stable social development, and building China into a technical power. We keep researching and developing technologies for key HTGR equipment and supplying main helium blowers, steam generators, helium compressors, and turbine generator sets and other key equipment.
