Located in Koh Kong Province, Cambodia, the Upper Stung Tatay Pumped-Storage Hydropower Station plans to install four pumped storage units with a single-unit capacity of 250 MW. China National Heavy Machinery Corporation is participating in the project development under a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model. As a key cooperation project identified jointly by the leaders of China and Cambodia, it holds significant importance. A working group led by the National Energy Administration and the Department of Foreign Capital and Overseas Investment of the National Development and Reform Commission has been established to assist Cambodia in addressing its energy shortage through a "multi-energy complementary solution". The Upper Stung Tatay Pumped-Storage Hydropower Station is a vital component of this solution.
