On January 10, 2020, the Yangtze River Three Gorges Complex Project partly undertaken by HE won a grand prize of the 2019 National Award for Science and Technology Progress.

As one of the major construction organizations that have participated in the construction of the Yangtze River Three Gorges Complex Project, HE has completed multiple national key research projects and reserved a lot of technology and talents for the construction of the Yangtze River Three Gorges Complex Project. HE has signed contracts on manufacture over 50 domestic giant water turbine units for domestic customers following the Yangtze River Three Gorges Complex Project, relying on its advanced scientific research, design, manufacturing and service capabilities.

At present, the Baihetan 1,000MW Hydropower Unit, the unit with the largest unit capacity in the world, is being manufactured quickly.
