A few days ago, HE successfully won the EPC contract of the Transformation Demonstration Project of Coupling the 660MW Supercritical Coal-fired Units of the Datang Jilin Changshan Thermal Power Plant and the 20MW Biomass Power Generation. The project is the first and largest national pilot and demonstration transformation project of coupling the coal-fired power generation technology and biomass gasification. HE has thus become the “leader” in the coal-biomass coupling power generation field in China.

In the coal-biomass coupling gasification power generation project of the Datang Changshan Coal-fired Power Plant, corn stalks are taken as the major biomass fuel as they are abundant in the surrounding areas. A biomass gasification power generation project with a generating capacity of 20MW will be set up at the site where Unit 1 is located. In the project, biomass gases generated will be delivered to the boiler for the 660MW supercritical coal-fired generator units by means of the micro-positive pressure gasification technology of the circulating fluidized bed, and then be co-fired with pulverized coal, so as to realize efficient biomass power generation in the original coal-fired generation system, which can effectively solve the environmental pollution and resource waste problems arising from direct burning of crop stalks in the fields.
