HE-contracted Barapukuria 275MW Coal-Fired Thermal Power Project Has Successfully Undergone 42-day Reliable Operation
At 12:00 on February 1, 2018, local time in Bangladesh, the HE-contracted Barapukuria 275MW Coal-Fired Thermal Power Project — the coal-fired project with the largest total installed capacity in Bangladesh so far — which was equipped with major machines by HE had successfully underwent 42-day reliable operation.
The three major machines of the project were all manufactured by HE and the auxiliary equipment was supplied by Chinese manufacturers. Therefore, the project is a typical “made-by-China” and “built-by-China” one. On the request of the employer of the project, HE carried out reliable operation of the project for six weeks, instead of 1 month as usual. Assuring its client with the high quality project, HE won high praise from the employer for reliable operation of the units.
It is understood that the contract for this project covers design, procurement, supply, civil engineering, installation, testing and five-year services. On November 10, 2017, the Barapukuria Project was successfully synchronized on the first go, nearly half a year ahead of schedule; at 12:00 on December 21, 2017, the project was officially put into 42-day reliable operation; as at 12:00 on February 1, 2018, local time in Bangladesh, the project had continuously and reliably operated for 1,008 hours, during which the units operated completely as scheduled, with an average gross output of 272MW and a total generating capacity of 274 million kWh.
